If Windows XP came out in 2022, it would look like this. PERFECT!

Designer Addy Arapi showed what Windows XP would be like if it were released now. Unlike most other fan works, this concept is presented not with 2-3 screenshots, but with a high-quality teaser video, which is not much inferior to the official ones from Microsoft.

In Windows XP 2022 Edition (that’s what the concept is called), the designer combined the key elements of Windows 11 with the recognizable components and accent colors of Windows XP. For example, the ill-fated “Start” is still located in the middle, and the program shortcuts are made in the style of Windows 11, but the “Start” button and the menu itself are painted in the colors of Windows XP.

The iconic style has been applied to File Explorer, notifications, and the control center with quick settings, among other things. Even the shutdown menu with a darkened background and three recognizable buttons of red, yellow and green color was not left without attention.

The designer even reworked the legendary desktop picture, making it animated — clouds float across the sky, and their shadow is reflected in the clearing. It is also adapted to a dark theme – stars are visible in the sky instead of clouds.
