CLIMAX it also arrived in Italy: the innovative platform of sex-education which has successfully established itself in France and England is now also available in Italian, with the aim of fill the pleasure gap and educate anyone about female sexual pleasure.

A video series of 32 Netflix-style episodes, which aims to tackle the satisfaction gap between men and women in sexuality, which is still very large. Scientific research on female pleasure has only recently intensified, thanks to large-scale studies conducted around the world. To bridge the pleasure gap, CLIMAX has selected 70 international studies conducted on over 90 thousand people and has created an educational video series to unearth hidden truths and dispel once and for all the taboos that still exist.

Here are some data, collected by the most recent studies: to begin with, only 64% of women have reachedorgasm during the last sexual intercourse, compared to 91% of men; the women they meet greater difficulties in reaching orgasm they are particularly represented in the age group under 25 (62%), by people who are dissatisfied or unsatisfied with their emotional (59%) and sexual (67%) lives, as well as by people in overweight (54%); over the past three months one in five women was satisfied with reaching theorgasm once a month (21%), and 4% less than once a month; it is interesting to point out that one in ten couples (11%) have not had any orgasm in the past year and 3% have never had one.

How is the situation in Italy? Well, the percentage of women who have difficulty reaching orgasm is of 46% (in the Netherlands it stops at 28%), and the 52% say they fake it (in France 62% of the women interviewed fake orgasms, in Spain 51%). Finally, the 22% did not have an orgasm during her last sexual intercourse.

To conclude, focus on the speed: 53.1% of women say they reach orgasm in less than 5 minutes: therefore, it is not true that men are fast and women are not … it depends on how orgasm is achieved.

In short, the pleasure gap has not yet been filled: the CLIMAX video series aims to teach anyone the techniques to receive or give more pleasure, adopting a transparent, authentic and without filters. It develops, in fact, on three video packages organized by macro-topics, each designed to help you understand female morphology, get to know your body thoroughly, with contents designed to be enjoyed alone or in pairs. The teaching method goes straight to the point: explanatory videos are accompanied by a voice over in Italian that explains the images, with descriptive comments and supporting scientific notions.

Always data collected from recent studies have shown, in fact, that nowadays more than 1 in 4 people cannot identify the clitoris from an image and a survey of 1000 women showed that 44% were unable to identify the vagina on a medical illustration showing the female reproductive organ.

To learn more about this platform and the idea behind it, we interviewed Laurène DorleacCEO and founder of climax.how.

Where did the idea of making educational videos about achieving pleasure come from?

“Our society promotes a very open sexuality, but only a few people are sexually comfortable and really know how to give or feel pleasure. This lack of knowledge brings a lot anxiety and frustration. Sex is the activity we expect to be good at, but (almost) no one has taught us how to do it right. This is even more true of female pleasure: little is said about it and even less is shown.

Driven by the desire to create a careful and safe space dedicated to sexual well-being, we decided to create CLIMAX in 2019: a transparent and reliable platform that offers educational and explicit videos, based on scientific studies and the experience of thousands of women. Through CLIMAX, we want to invite everyone to a journey of exploration and connection with your own body, to get to know in depth what gives pleasure, discover new practices to please others, enrich your sexual life and live a more satisfying sexuality ».

Do they find it useful? Did they improve their sex life? And the men?

“We get a lot of positive comments from different profiles. 55% of our users are female, while 45% are male. Men turn to CLIMAX to understand how to give pleasure, to get to know the female body in depth and understand how to satisfy it. Women – or simply anyone we like to define vulva-lovers – they watch CLIMAX to (re) discover their body, their pleasure, improve their sexual relations and their orgasms. A satisfying sex life is possible when you have the right sex education and know how to please yourself. ‘

Feedback from the public that already benefits from it? What do the women say?

«We receive a lot of gratitude from our users. Most of them told us how amazing CLIMAX is, how it managed to change the perception of their bodies and their sex life. Many women have been surprised to discover that their body can feel pleasure in so many different ways ».

The videos do not focus only on the techniques to reach orgasm, but also and above all on the holistic part, for a more conscious slow sex: are we increasingly moving towards an orgasm of the mind and soul?

“We think sexual intimacy is much more than a purely physical act. It is a way to connect with other people and with your own body. I don’t know if the holistic approach will replace the “classic” one, but it sure does more positivity and well-being within the sexual sphere. It goes against this “performance-oriented mind” that the society we live in promotes (how long can I last, how many sexual partners can I have, how many orgasms can I reach …) and gives more importance to connection, well-being and pleasure, because the most important thing is to feel good, without thinking about performance ».

What are the things that prevent us women from having an orgasm?

«First of all, it stress. Significantly limits the secretion of sex hormones. When we are stressed, the steroid hormone pregnenolone, instead of converting to sex hormone, converts to cortisol, the stress hormone. This means that stress can have a significant impact on our sex life, resulting in decreased libido and difficulty reaching orgasm.

Then, the expectations. Don’t think too much about having to or want to orgasm. Start enjoying the pleasure you feel, the touch of your fingers, the softness of your skin. It will help you focus your attention on the sensations of your body and not just limit it to the head ».

So what are the elements that favor a good orgasm?

“The number one piece of advice we can give is about relaxation. For a good orgasm it is essential to clear all negative thoughts and leave the stress of the day behind. Then, you can let your mind wander and start thinking about something pleasant and exciting. THE erotic thoughts they are essential for increasing arousal.

What comes next is all a matter of rhythm and intensity: Most women like the rhythm to be irregular and the intensity of intercourse to be light due to the initial arousal state. On the other hand, when they feel close to orgasm, most prefer a more regular rhythm and a higher intensity. But remember, each is unique: the idea is to adapt these two elements to your feelings.

Last but not least, we have forgotten too many times how the breathing it can affect our pleasure and the intensity of our orgasm. In general, we breathe shallowly, mostly using the upper part of our lungs. This lifts our shoulders and keeps the diaphragm in constant tension: it is shallow breathing that limits our oxygen supply and adds further stress to the body. In our videos we teach people a new way of breathing: deep breathing to improve the achievement of pleasure and experience a complete orgasm ».

What to work on to always achieve pleasure?

Practice! Sex is the only thing in our life that we expect to be good at, yet we don’t practice. It’s like expecting a physically fit body to just happen! Being fit and full of energy requires a regular and constant effort to develop and maintain a healthy and strong body (and mind). We recommend repeating the movements whenever possible. By repeating the same patterns over and over, there will be more chances of increasing the levels of pleasure and arousal and reaching orgasm. “

The female orgasm has always been more forgotten and ignored than the male one, perhaps because it is less evident and because we women too did not know our pleasure well: what is the wish that is made with the launch of Climax, especially in Italy, a country often backward from a sexual point of view?

Knowledge is power! Our mission is to democratize sexual well-being through transparent and safe sex education. We are convinced that by explicitly showing how to satisfy a woman and by talking about sex without filters, we help to break down inhibitions and taboos ».
