The French telecommunications group Iliad announced that operating profits from the company’s core business in the first quarter rose 5.4% year-on-year, mainly due to higher domestic and Italian market revenues.
EBITDal increased to 714 million Euros during the period, while first quarter sales increased 4.8% to 1.9 billion Euros.
The Iliad, which was listed on the stock exchange by its owner last year for 3.1 billion euros, has redefined its growth target in the three countries in which it operates.
Adding to the countries is Poland, where it recently acquired the UPC fixed internet connection provider from US Liberty Global.
“Our priority remains to grow organically,” said CEO Thomas Reynaud, adding that the group was open to acquisitions, mainly in Italy, where an attempt to buy Vodafone for $ 13 billion was rejected by the British telecommunications company.
