I want to discuss how a country the size of Brazil doesn’t have direct flights to the African continent. When I return to Brazil, I’m going to talk to the airlines, with the Ministry of Ports and Airports. Let’s look for solutions to this problem.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said, this Saturday (26), that the government is studying the opening of a consulate general in Luanda, capital of Angola.
In a statement to the press, he classified the two-day visit to the African country as historic and recalled that Angola is already home to the largest Brazilian community on the continent – around 30,000 Brazilians.
“For that reason, I instructed Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira to study the opening of a general consulate in Luanda, which would be the first in a Portuguese-speaking country in Africa,” he said.
