In an interview with CNN this Wednesday (8), the federal deputy and coordinator of the tax reform WG in the Chamber, Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG), stated that he is optimistic about the approval of the reform.
“It is good to remember that social justice is almost impossible without tax justice, without a more simplified, more direct, more progressive model that can guarantee the country more sustainability from a fiscal point of view. I believe that there is a lot of convergence at this point, ”he said.
Asked about the time taken to process the reform, the deputy said that he sees the possibility of the text being appreciated in the plenary of the Chamber in 90 days.
Work group
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), confirmed that he will create a working group to discuss the tax reform in the Chamber. Aguinaldo, like the CNN he said, will be the rapporteur for the proposal. Reginaldo Lopes, former PT leader in the Chamber, should be the group’s coordinator, according to Lira.
