Node 471st anniversary of São Paulo celebrated in January 25th the São Paulo Cultural Center (CCSP) will promote an outdoor screening of the film “I’m Still Here “. The CCSP confirmed the information to CNN .
The session, organized by Spcine in collaboration with the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, it will take place at 7:30 pm in the CCSP hanging garden. Tickets can be collected from 6:30 pm .
“I’m Still Here” is an adaptation of the book of the same name written by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, known for the book “Feliz Ano Velho” — a huge sales success in the 1980s.
The story takes place in the 1970s, during the most intense period of the military dictatorship in Brazil, and follows the trajectory of the Paiva family, made up of Rubens (played by Selton Mello), Eunice (played by Fernanda Torres, in a Globe-winning performance). Gold) and his children.
Oscar 2025 nominees will be announced on January 23 .
Last weekend, “I’m Still Here” won the award for best international film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
For the judges, the film was chosen by “convey the horror of dictatorship from the intimate perspective of a mother who defends not just her family of five, but their dignity. Evoking the gravity of violence without resorting to melodrama, director Walter Salles captures a critical moment in history with scrupulous and convincing detail.”
The award ceremony increased the number of spectators across the country. According to data from the National Cinema Agency (Ancine), demand for the film increased considerably, resulting in 17 thousand tickets sold, after recognition.
