Brazilian Nathan Loewenthal, who has lived in Israel for 17 years, had purchased a ticket for an electronic music party that was attacked by the radical Islamic group Hamas on October 7.
A CNN Radio he recalled that he was supposed to be there, but plans changed: “My ex-wife asked to take care of my daughter that weekend and I gave in, that was the reason.”
“So far, I have lost five close friends who were at the rave”, he lamented.
According to Nathan, he is in a “state of shock”, as is the nation as a whole.
“We are on autopilot, it was a very big attack, the whole country is in mourning, but there is no time for that because we are at war,” he explained.
He says that the country has never felt so united, “whether in citizens volunteering to help those who lost everything, or in the army.”
“We are outraged and speechless after everything happened,” he said.

The Brazilian is an army reservist, but he is injured and, according to himself, is not fit to serve.
However, he has dedicated himself to volunteering.
In his assessment, there is a lot of fear in the north of Israel, on the border of Lebanon, with the possibility of Hezbollah “which is more powerful and intelligent than Hamas” entering the war.
