Imamoglu holds on to Istanbul, according to polls – Grumblings in Erdogan's camp

Ekrem Imamoglu continues to hold on to Istanbul, according to the latest polls, with Turkey's biggest city seen as uncertain whether to elect the person promoted by Recep Tayyip Erdogan as mayor. According to dw.com, two weeks before the local elections on March 31, Turkish voters appear to be concerned about whether they will again cast their votes for the Turkish presidential candidates, as they did in the dual elections last May. From the beginning of the pre-election period, Erdogan did not hide that the biggest challenge for him would be for his candidate to win back Istanbul, the largest and richest city in the country which he lost in 2019 to the current mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
