The Somali model Iman, 65 years old, tells of his love with the husband David Bowie. A love that is still very much alive in her heart, despite the London singer – with whom she married in 1992 – passed away on January 10, 2016 (for a liver tumor). “Many think David was a futuristic type, but the truth is that he was the most traditional husband, kind and present of the world. A true gentleman, he loved to wear an elegant suit, ”says Iman on the cover of the February issue of the magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
The former model never remarried, but – he admits – he begins to feel the weight of loneliness. However, in the interview he reiterated that he did not contemplate the idea of another marriage. “David is in our hearts and minds every day, for all of us. You know, it was my true love. My daughter once asked me if I would ever remarry and me I replied “never” ».
After leaving New York for the country house, Iman is happily dedicating himself to painting (a great passion inherited from David Bowie), to walks in the green, to cooking. And lets know of to live the years that pass as a privilege, having seen the tragic outcomes of the disease firsthand, assisting her husband until his death.
“His music is still alive, he is still alive in the memories of his fans. And in mine ».
