Iman of Jordan gets married: engagement with Jameel Alexander Thermiotis announced

Orange blossoms on the horizon for the royal family of Jordan: the announcement of the princess’s engagement has arrived (surprisingly) Iman, daughter of Queen Rania and King Abd Allah IIwith Jameel Alexander Thermiotis.

The news arrived with an official press release, but also via social media, as is now the practice in these cases. The engagement ceremony was held on Tuesday 5 July, in the presence of the future bride’s parents, her three brothers, Princess Salma, Crown Prince Ḥusayn and Prince Hashem, and the groom’s family. “The Hashemite Royal Court congratulates Her Royal Highness Princess Iman and Mr. Thermiotis on this occasion, and wishes them a life of happiness,” reads the note.

Less formal, Rania of Jordan’s message for future spouses: “My dearest Iman, your smile has always been a gift of love that I have treasured since the day you were born. I wish you and Jameel a life of love and laughter ».

Iman is the second child of Rania and Abd Hallah II and will be the first daughter of the couple to go to the altar. Born in 1996, she graduated in Amman and then continued her studies in the United States, at Georgetown University in Washington, the same choice also by her older brother Ḥusayn. She has a degree in sociology, she is also passionate about fashion, following in the footsteps of her mother Rania, as is her younger sister Salma di lei.

Definitely unknown, however, is the future husband. Until now his name had never been leaked among the royal watchers, a sign that, when you really want to keep a love private, you can do it very well, even if you are part of a royal family. Class 1994, Thermiotis was born in Caracas, in Venezuela, and has Greek blood in his veins, as can also be seen from his surname. After studying business administration, she started working in the financial sector in New York. That’s all there is to know for now.

Yet the wedding date is also top secret, but it is certain that the celebrations will be big in Amman. A royal wedding hasn’t been staged for a long time.
