Women, the elderly and children would be the categories most at risk of a domestic accident and, in almost 8 cases out of 10 – 76.9% – falls would involve those over 64. Among the most dangerous home environments, however, we find the kitchen in which 38% of accidents occur followed by the bathroom and bedroom: this is what emerged from the last detection on domestic accidents carried out by Istat.
And although we know how complicated if not impossible it is to eliminate the risk of accidents in the home, there are many pocket or wearable devices useful to notify our loved ones or ask for help quickly when, unfortunately, unpleasant inconveniences occur.
For example there is Seremya smart bracelet equipped with an SOS button capable of automatically detecting falls and locating the position of the wearer via GPS as well as constantly monitoring heart rate, sleep and daily activity or Apple Watch which, in addition to being able to check for any arrhythmias, is capable of making an emergency call when it detects a fall and verifies that the body remains immobile for about a minute.
Not only suitable for the elderly therefore, these solutions are also useful for those who are often away from home or work in isolated places: the devices equipped with a SIM card and a GPS locator, in fact, are able to communicate the precise position of the place where the accident occurred and therefore allow a quick and effective rescue on the spot.
