The main blow fell on the BYBIT cryptocurrency exchange, which lost $ 1.46 billion in February as a result of hacking the Lazarus Group from North Korea, experts noted:
“Most of the losses are concentrated on centralized crypto -rhms, which remain the main goal for scammers.”
Decentralized sites were also injured: 38 out of 40 attacks touched Defi projects. However, total losses here amounted to no more than $ 106.8 million, which is 69% less than in 2024, analysts said.
According to them, the BNB Chain network turned out to be the most attractive for scammers in January – March, having survived 19 attacks. The Ethereum blockchain took second place with 15 incidents.
