“Impeachment: American Crime Story”: the trailer for the series on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal

It took more than three years to see the light but, finally, the third season of American Crime Story he warms up his engines and prepares for his debut. New episodes will arrive on September 7 on FX and, as you know, after the OJ Simpson case and the assassination of Gianni Versace, they will focus on Monica Lewinsky scandal that shook the White House in the 1990s, causing then-president Bill Clinton to risk the Impeachment trial that gives the series its title. The episodes will tell, in fact, the controversial relationship between the intern Lewinsky, here in the role of executive producer, and the president who, live nationally, denied any kind of involvement with the girl.

Judging from the first pictures, it is clear that Impeachment: American Crime Story, which always involves Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk in the making, will try to tell the dark parts of a story that has remained blurred for a long time and which could rekindle suspicion around the figure of Clinton, obscured in the last decade thanks to the political rise of Hillary on Bill, and, in general, the Democrats’ handling of the scandal. The president will be playing Clive Owen, fresh from the experience of Lisey’s story on Apple TV +, while the role of Lewinsky was entrusted to the young woman Beanie Feldstein, most famous for playing Julie in Lady Bird and, even more, Molly in The revenge of the losers, Olivia Wilde’s delightful directorial debut.

They complete the cast Sarah PaulsonMurphy’s fetish actress in the role of Linda Tripp, the person who collected Lewinsky’s confidences about Clinton’s extramarital affair; Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, the journalist who first accused the president of sexual harassment; Billy Eichner, who lends his face to the founder of Drudge Report Matt Drudge; Cobie Smulders, who plays media expert and columnist Ann Coulter; and Edie Falco in the difficult role of First Lady Hillary Clinton. Like the previous seasons, too Impeachment: American Crime Story it is inspired by a book, that is A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin, and we are sure that, once again, we will hear a lot about the story.
