Imperatriz Leopoldinense announced, in the early hours of Wednesday (20), that her plot for the 2025 Carnival will tell a story from Yoruba mythology. The association follows Academicos do Grande Rio and Beija-Flor de Nilópolis and becomes the third school to announce the theme of its plot for next year.
The current runner-up will talk about Oxalá's trip to the kingdom of Oyó to visit Xangô in an attempt to win her tenth title in the Rio Carnival elite.
“Immersed in this rich ancestral universe marked by orality, the Empress kicks off the Carnival that will come”, stated the association in a post made on its social networks.
However, there is still no official name, therefore, synopsis text or narrative breakdown released by the Imperatriz, which will once again have Leandro Vieira as a carnival artist. The artist signed the 2023 parade, which won the title for the school, and had already been champion for Mangueira in 2016 and 2019.
Just like Imperatriz, Grande Rio and Beija-Flor also announced the themes that will serve as the basis for their plots in 2025. The Duque de Caxias school will talk about Pará, as announced by the state governor, Helder Barbalho (MDB). The Nilópolis association, in turn, chose Laíla, one of the main samba artists in its history.

The hammer was struck and in the next parade, Imperatriz Leopoldinense will tell the story protected by Itã that narrates Oxalá's trip to the kingdom of Oyó with the intention of visiting Xangô.
