In 2020, HP managed to capture 28.7% of the Indian ready-made PC market

India sold 10.271 million finished personal computers in a year. This is 6.4% less than in 2019. At the same time, sales in the fourth quarter alone amounted to 2.938 million units, which is 27% more than in the fourth quarter of 2019, when 2.313 million computers were sold. It is noteworthy that notebook sales in annual terms increased by 62.1% and accounted for about three quarters of all sales. If we continue to consider only laptops, 7.9 million units were sold for the year, which is 6.0% more than in 2019.

Dell sold the most PCs in the fourth quarter. Compared to the same period in 2019, it increased sales by 57.1% and occupied 27.5% of the market by the end of the quarter. HP is in second place with 26.7%. The top five also include Lenovo, Acer Group and Asus, with shares equal to 18.4%, 8.5% and 6.4%, respectively.

If we talk about the results of the year as a whole, the picture changes somewhat. HP comes out on top with a 28.7% market share. A year ago, HP accounted for 26.5% of sales. Dell finished second with 23.2%. Lenovo is next with 21.7%. The Acer Group, which owns 9.8% of the market, is in fourth place, and Asus closes the top five with 6.3%.
