In an interview with CNN, this Saturday (18th), cybercrime expert Wanderson Castilho spoke about the hacker attack on the Ministry of Health’s system, and stated that Brazil was at the top of information leakage in the world, in 2021. For the expert, recovery of platforms may “not be so easy”, although the invasion was not considered to be of great “deep”.
“The attack was not completely deep, it was a DNS, meaning when the user tried to find the page, he was directed to a fake page. Of course, when you carry out an attack and it disfigures a major processing, such as the Ministry of Health, recovery, the return to what was normal is not that easy. The return is never so easy”, he said.
The expert pointed out that no system is 100% secure, and that the vulnerabilities of the Ministry of Health – and other bodies – were very well known in blogs and hacker chat rooms that are monitored.
“This year, unfortunately, Brazil was at the top of information leaks, invasions, worldwide. In that year of 2021, we had more than 227 million data from Brazilians exposed, we have a very bad image in relation to that. We had four major hacks on systems exposing Brazilian data, this new attack by the Ministry of Health raised an even greater concern”, said the expert.
