Specialists of the analytical company IDC have prepared a report related to the global market for equipment for local wireless networks (WLAN). The report includes data for the fourth quarter of 2021 and for the year as a whole.
Analysts say that in the last quarter in the corporate segment of this market, growth was recorded in annual terms by 21.8%, to $2.3 billion. Full-year sales in this segment reached $7.6 billion, up 20.4%.
The consumer segment experienced a 10.1% decrease in sales in the fourth quarter compared to the same period in 2020. In 2021, sales of consumer WLAN equipment were 2.5% lower than in 2020.
As a result, the combined growth rate for both segments in the fourth quarter was 3.0%, in 2021 as a whole – 6.5%. In monetary terms, the market reached $17.2 billion.

Cisco remains the market leader in equipment for corporate WLAN networks. At the end of the year, it owns 40.5% of the market. Second place goes to Aruba-HPE with 12.8%. In third place is Ubiquiti with 8.0%. The top five also includes Huawei and H3C, with 7.4% and 4.8% respectively.
