In 70 years from 2040 the retirement age limit in Denmark

The Denmark parliament approved, without major reactions, a law that increases the retirement age of 70 years from 2040, compared to 67 today. A total of 81 MPs voted in favor and 21 against, according to the announcement posted on the House website. In Denmark, since the 2006 reform, the retirement age is linked to life expectancy and revised every five years. In 2030 the retirement age will be 68 years and 2035 at 69. The new law sets the age of 70 years of retirement for all those born after December 31, 1970, that is, for all those who are 69 years old in 2040 onwards. Last summer, 47 -year -old Prime Minister Methe Fredericksen said he was ready to review the system when the retirement age is 70 years old. “We no longer believe in the automation of increasing the retirement age limit,” he told Berlingske in August.
