The vice-president of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), defended the implementation of a tax reform and the reduction of bureaucracy to undertake in the country, in a meeting at Fiesp with businessmen this Monday (16).
“The industry is overtaxed. You have practically 11% of participation of the transformation industry in the GDP and almost 30% of the tax burden. The tax reform does not belong to the government or the opposition, it belongs to the country. It’s a real tax madhouse [o Brasil]so it is necessary to simplify this, and the reforms are going in that direction”, he declared.
“It is to simplify, to bring more legal certainty. This is a reform that can bring gains in GDP, because it brings economic efficiency and is mature, it has already been discussed and debated, ”he added.
Alckmin also said that the tax reform dialogues with the aim of reducing bureaucracy in the country, and cited an example that Pérsio Árida told him about the difference in procedures for opening consultancies in the United Kingdom and in Brazil.
