Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who is in Albania, met with the president of the “Omonia” party branch in Chimarra Fredi Beleri.
Mr. Beleri informed the minister about issues that concern the Greek national minority in Albania, according to a relevant post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on twitter.
Mr. Dendias will also hold a meeting with the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania Anastasios, and then he will meet in person with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Albania Olta Xhaçka and will have extended talks. Joint statements to the press will be made around 12:00 (local time).
The foreign minister will then be received by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. There will be a private meeting and then a working lunch will take place.
Discussions will focus on issues of bilateral, European and regional interest, with emphasis on the course of Greek-Albanian relations in all areas, the preparation of the Summit of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), the developments in Ukraine after the Russian invasion, Eastern Mediterranean region and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
