The film, which is directed by George Clooney, follows a group of thirteen art experts from different countries who were brought together during World War II with the mission to find works of art stolen by the Nazis before they are destroyed.

The series seeks to explain, from the attack on Pearl Harbor to D-Day, the remarkable events of World War II. With color footage brought to life in this documentary series, it is possible to see greater detail in the images that were rescued from archives of both the Axis and Allied armies.
