The Government of Amazonas, through the Intersectoral Committee for Confronting the Environmental Emergency Situation, began publishing bulletins with updated information on the drought in the state as of Friday (16).
According to Civil Defense data, as of 3 pm on Friday, 20 municipalities were in a state of emergency, affecting 111,000 people, or around 27,000 families.
The number of people and families affected by the drought in the state is dynamic and is based on information provided by municipalities that feed the S2iD – Civil Defense Integrated Disaster Information System.
As part of humanitarian assistance, 226 tons of food were distributed, corresponding to 10,800 basic food baskets sent to the most affected regions. The government has also installed 24 water purifiers, 10 of which are directed to the Alto Solimões river basin, in addition to sending 100 water tanks to improve access to drinking water.

To date, approximately 200 tons of medicines and supplies have been sent to the municipalities in the Madeira, Juruá, Purus and Alto Solimões river basins.
The bulletin also points out that the Amazonas Environmental Protection Institute (Ipaam) has already carried out 290 embargoes, totaling 16,196.1009 hectares of embargoed areas. Fines totaling R$80.7 thousand were applied with 270 infraction reports and 25 seizure reports drawn up, in addition to 150 arrests and detentions carried out.
