The meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Angola Esmeralda Mendonça was held by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, who is in Luana, Angola, for the first official visit of a Greek Foreign Minister to the country.
The focus of the discussion was the strengthening of ties and cooperation between Greece and Angola at bilateral and multilateral level, the joint commitment to international law, regional developments and the fight against the pandemic, according to a relevant post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on twitter.
Angolan Foreign Minister Tete Antonio was diagnosed with coronavirus before his meeting with Mr. Dendias, which is why the Foreign Minister finally met with Ms. Mendonça.
Also in the presence of Mr. Dendias, the Ambassador of Greece to the Democratic Republic of Congo with parallel accreditation in Angola, Kalliopi Douti, signed together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola a Memorandum of Understanding for Political Consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
