Berlin is expected to arrive today by Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski for talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, the German government announced as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war. According to the announcement, Mertz will welcome Zelenski with military prices in Chancellor at 12:00 (local time, 13:00 Greek time). “The visit will focus on German support for Ukraine as well as the efforts to achieve a truce” with Russia, Stefan Cornelius said in a spokesman for the German government. In the afternoon, Zelenski will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
