The actor ROBERT DE NIRO 81, received a Gold honorary during the opening of the 78th edition of Cannes Festival which began on Tuesday (13). The tribute, given to the whole of his work, was delivered by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 50.
Both actors worked together for the first time in 1993, when DiCaprio starred in “Awakening of a man” based on the memories of writer Tobias Wolff. In the feature, DiCaprio plays a boy affected by his mother’s relationship with his cruel stepfather, played by De Niro.
Already in 2023, the pair was directed by Martin Scorsese in “Killer of the Flower Moon.” The following year, the honoree in Cannes received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor for his role as the crime boss William Hale.
In addition to his work as an actor, by Niro was revered by his commitment to revitalize the New York art scene in the United States when Tribeca Festival in 2002.
Currently seen in Netflix’s “Zero Day” miniseries, known as great film films, such as “Taxi Driver”, “The Good Companions”, “The Mighty Boss 2”, “The King of Comedy”, “The Irish” and “The King of Comedy”, has commented on the honor in the statement.
