Note that the Chromium-based version of Edge is considered by Microsoft to be the mainstream for Windows 10. Support for the classic version of Edge will end on March 9th.

One of the new features is the highly anticipated vertical tabs. Microsoft announced the feature back in March, and in October it became available as a preview for the Canary and Dev channels. Vertical tabs will now be available to all users of the stable version of Edge. Note that there is no such feature in Google Chrome, which dominates the browser market.

The vertical tabs feature will help you quickly manage a large number of tabs and find the one you need more easily. To access it, just click on the icon in the upper left corner of the browser window. With this method of organizing tabs, their names are not compressed if you open a large number of sites. You can return to the horizontal display of tabs at any time by clicking on the same icon.

Another innovation is a significant acceleration of the launch. As promised by Microsoft, the launch time will improve by 29-41%. The function is automatically activated until the end of March, and you can turn it off in the settings.

And finally, your browsing history will become more convenient and without having to leave the current tab. The story will open in a relatively small drop-down menu instead of opening a separate page.
