Representatives of the Dagenergo company, together with the employees of the security department of Rosseti North Caucasus, as well as the management and counteraction of corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, were discovered in the Babayurt district of Dagestan a mining farm. Mining in the republic is prohibited and any farm is considered illegal.
Specialists of the Rosseti North Caucasus branch said that a resident of the village of Babayurt was engaged in the cryptocurrency mining, 35 devices were found in his private house.
Employees of Dagenergo recorded the uncomfortable consumption of electricity in the amount of 249,000 kWh. The equipment was seized, materials are being prepared for solving the issue – what to do with the owner of the mining farm.
The Russian government approved a complete ban on mining digital assets in almost all regions of the Caucasus-Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, Chechnya and Karachay-Cherkessia. Restrictions are valid until March 15, 2031.
Earlier, Rosseti North Caucasus said that two illegal mining farms were discovered in private houses in the village of Levashinsky District of Dagestan.
