The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that global semiconductor product sales totaled $ 39.6 billion in February. This is 14.7% more compared to February last year, although it is 1% less than it was in January 2021. Note that in January the growth in annual terms amounted to 13.2%.
“Global semiconductor sales for the first two months of the year have outpaced sales since early 2020, when the pandemic began to spread in some parts of the world,” said John Neuffer, President and CEO of SIA. “Sales in the Chinese market showed the largest annualized growth, mainly because sales there declined significantly at the beginning of last year.”
If we consider the situation by regions, sales growth in annual terms was noted in all markets. In particular, in China, growth was 18.9%, in the Americas – 9.7%, in Japan – 7.6%, in Europe – 6.8%, in all other regions, including the Asia-Pacific, – 18.2%.
