In Finland and Norway N. Dendias

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will go to Finland tomorrow, Tuesday 15 February, and to Norway the day after Wednesday, 16 February, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Costas Frangogiannis.

During his stay in Helsinki, the Foreign Minister will have a private meeting with his Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto. A working lunch will follow and then joint statements will take place in the press (around 14.45 local time), according to a relevant announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During his stay in Helsinki, the Foreign Minister will also take part in a roundtable discussion at the Finnish Foreign Ministry, which will focus on developments in Eastern Europe.

In Norway, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Costas Frangogiannis, will meet with the Minister of Finance of Norway, Trond Grande. The Foreign Minister will then have a private meeting with his Norwegian counterpart, Anniken Huitfeldt. Extended conversations during a working lunch and joint statements to the press will follow (around 13.30 local time).

Afterwards, the Foreign Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Foreign Minister, will visit the Norwegian Parliament, where they will meet with the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense, Ine EriksenSøreide.

Concluding his visit to Norway, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver a lecture at the Norwegian Foundation for Political Research (NUPI), entitled “Implementing the UNConvention on the Law of the Sea – The Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean as a casestudy” (around 15.30 local time). ).

At the heart of discussions with senior officials of the two countries will be the strengthening of bilateral relations in all areas.

At the same time, the latest developments in Eastern Europe and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region will be discussed, in the light of European (with Finland) and NATO solidarity (with Norway).
