In France, At The Presentation Of The Film Award, The Actress Undressed, Protesting Against Quarantine: Photo

At the presentation of the French Cesar Film Awards, 57-year-old actress Corina Masiero nude in protest against the coronavirus restrictions, which negatively affect the cultural sphere. It is reported by the BBC.

The prize for the best film at the ceremony went to the comedy “Happy to Stay” by Albert Dupontel. The best foreign film was “One More Each” by Dane Thomas Winterberg.

Corina Masiero was invited to receive the Best Costume Award. She entered the stage dressed as a donkey, which Deadline writes is a nod to the 1970 film Donkey Skin, starring Catherine Deneuve.

Approaching the microphone, the actress took off her costume and found herself in a long red dress. But Masiero did not stop there. “I have the last suit, and nothing else,” she declared and completely undressed. On the body of the actress, covered with stains of fake blood, the slogan “No culture – no future” was applied, as well as an appeal to French Prime Minister Jean Casteks: “Give us back the culture, Jean”.

Leaving the stage, Masiero said: “I don’t think I will be invited next year, we’ll see.”

The BBC writes that cinemas in France have been closed for more than three months. During the ceremony, many of its participants were critical of the situation.

“My kids can go to Zara, but not to the movies … it’s not clear,” said Stéphane Demoustier, accepting the award for best screenplay.

Last December, hundreds of actors, theater directors, musicians, filmmakers and critics, as well as many other representatives of French culture, protested in Paris and other cities against the government’s closure of cultural institutions.
