The ban on mining in the Angarya acted from January 1 to March 15, 2025. The Irkutsk electric grid company (IES) did not receive about 800 million rubles of revenue due to a decrease in payment for the transfer of electricity.

According to the Deputy General Director of IES, Sergei Yeresov, the ban on mining made it possible to release about 300 MW of capacity. At the same time, the prohibition did not solve the problem of energy deficit in certain areas of the region. The Chairman of the Government of the Irkutsk Region Konstantin Zaitsev supported this position.

“We had a ban on mining in the winter. We thought that the company did not receive about 800 million rubles in revenue at the expense of the transfer tariff. And we still do not know what part of the revenue we will lose due to the total prohibition of mining, ”said heresov at a round table in energy efficiency.

The Russian government completely banned mining in most of the Irkutsk region from April 7, 2025 to March 15, 2031 due to energy deficit. As Yeresov emphasized, such a ban reduces the income of the company and makes it difficult to connect social objects to the networks.
