In Manaus, Bolsonaro defends development of the Amazon region

President Jair Bolsonaro participated, this Saturday (28), in the March of Jesus in Manaus, where he defended in front of a crowd of supporters the potential of the Manaus Free Zone and a policy of reducing taxes.

“This government reduces taxes throughout Brazil and it is beneficial for the entire country. Nobody will lose anything by reducing taxes such as, for example, the IPI. I have never seen a country grow up by raising taxes,” he said.

Along with the first lady, Michelle, Bolsonaro returned to defend the Manaus Free Zone.

“I am sure that, just as the Free Zone was born back then with General Castelo Branco e Costa e Silva, this area will be preserved. The Manaus Free Trade Zone will never be affected by this government”, said the president, who did not speak about actions to protect the environment in that region.

“Nobody has what you have, like fertilizers and rich biodiversity. More and more, we unite indigenous peoples with us men of other origins, but together we understand each other and, more and more, we work for the good of our Brazil,” he added.

On Friday (27), the day before his visit to Manaus, Bolsonaro again criticized the proposed change in the so-called Temporal Framework for indigenous lands and said, once again, that he may not comply with the final decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). ) about the subject.

The March for Jesus was held this Saturday afternoon (28) in the capital of Amazonas, starting at 3 pm (local time). Before going to the event, Bolsonaro met at Teatro Amazonas with 334 pastors and politicians from the evangelical bench, in a closed meeting.
