In new low for Guedes, Secretary of Infrastructure resigns

The Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, will have to manage a new drop in his team. The infrastructure development secretary, Gustavo Ene, resigned.

The most quoted to replace him is Gabriel Fiuza, who is part of the secretariat team. But the final decision will come from Daniella Marques, Paulo Guedes’ right-hand man, who will take over the Special Secretariat for Productivity – a body above the secretariat that is now vacant.

Ene says that he has been working on the transition for six months and that the time has come to return to the private sector.

“I’m not disbanding. I will continue to help from the outside, contributing to the reforms, in any way I can”, she told the CNN.

He said he waited for a moment of calmer to be able to announce his resignation.

And that the scenario is now favorable, in his view. Linked to liberal movements, he entered the government in September 2019.

Initially, he assumed the post of Secretary of Development, Industry, Commerce, Services and Innovation.

Before serving in the Jair Bolsonaro government, Ene held the position of Ceo do Lide, a group of business leaders that was once commanded by João Doria.
