The Minister of Interior, Makis Voridis, put in public consultation the draft law “Targeting, evaluation and reward system for strengthening the efficiency of the public administration and other provisions for the human resources of the public sector”.

The proposed draft law seeks, among other things, the complete reform of the evaluation system of the human resources of the Public Administration in the direction of strengthening the meritocracy and strengthening the skills of the civil servants.

At the same time, for the first time, a targeting system is introduced which will be inextricably linked to the evaluation and the Head of the organizational unit is assigned to achieve the goals. The Boss, whose role is being upgraded, is now being evaluated both for achieving the goals and for his skills.

At the same time, the institution of the Human Resources Development Consultant is introduced, which, among other things, undertakes the guidance and support of the people and those services that are called to implement the policies of the General Secretariat of Public Human Resources.

In addition, the draft law has included a modern system of incentives and rewards for employees, which functions as a mechanism for rewarding them and its elaboration is a product of Mr. Voridis’ cooperation with the Deputy Minister of Finance, Theodoros Skylakakis.

The consultation will end on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 21.30 and the relevant comments that will be submitted will be taken into account for the final drafting of the text of the draft law, which will come to Parliament for discussion and voting.
