State deputy Márcio Gualberto (PL), from Rio de Janeiro, stated on his social networks that the car he was in was shot at last Thursday night (7). The case occurred in Padre Miguel, in the west zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. No one is hurt.
The parliamentarian, who is a licensed civil police officer and president of the Public Security and Police Affairs Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj), stated that, after leaving a shopping mall in Bangu, the car he was in was chased by a white vehicle.
“This car then stops and then, abruptly, it closes our car. As there was no car behind, we managed to reverse, but when we started to do the maneuver, a criminal got out and started shooting violently at our car. First one with a pistol, then another came down and shot with a rifle,” the deputy told CNN .
After the attack, the deputy states that he and his security guards retaliated and chased the criminals, but that the criminals managed to escape. The car the parliamentarian was in is armored and no one was injured.

In a statement, the Military Police stated that police officers from the 14th DP (Bangu) were informed of an attempted vehicle theft on Rua Marechal Marciano, in Padre Miguel and that the case was registered at the 34th DP, in Bangu.
The Civil Police stated that an investigation is underway to identify who was responsible for the crime and clarify the incident.
“A very similar thing happened to me in 2021. I was coming by car when a man came out from behind a tree and started shooting at my car. On both occasions, there was no report of an assault. We are seeing criminals full of benefits and this has to stop, I’m not used to this violence and I don’t want to,” he reported.
