In Rome, Six Senses opens hotel inside 15th century palazzo

With luxury hotels focused on wellness and sustainability spread across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, the network six senses just landed in the Eternal City: Pomegranate was chosen to house the first urban unit of a hotel of the brand in Italy.

With 96 rooms and suites the hotel is located on the outskirts of the historic center and occupies the Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini a 15th-century building that has been restored and now houses accommodation.

The building’s interior features a newly restored marble staircase and 600-year-old columns at the main entrance. Discovered in excavations in the 1900s, a 4th-century baptismal font is visible under the glass tiles of the main restaurant.

Opened in mid-March, the hotel is a few steps from the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain and its 12 accommodation categories, including three signature suites, include courtyard view rooms and bustling suites. via del corso and the neighbor Church of San Marcello al Corso.

The facade of this church was even renovated, which marks the first sustainability project sponsored by the hotel.
