The team of the popular messenger Viber announced the launch of a new feature for Russian users. Now in the Viber application for Android and iOS, augmented reality masks have become available to Russian users.
AR filters and masks use technology from Snap, the renowned creator of the Snapchat app.
In order to use AR filters and masks, you need to click on the camera icon on the bottom panel in the open chat window – to create a photo, video or GIF with augmented reality effect.
As noted by the developers, dozens of AR masks with a variety of effects are already available on Viber: animal masks, “beauty filters with makeup and hairstyles, and so on. Especially for users from Russia, Viber has released masks with elements of national costumes. Hundreds of new filters and masks should appear in the messenger by the end of the year.
