During the Innoprom international industrial exhibition, which is taking place in Yekaterinburg, NAMI representatives officially presented the Russian electric motorcycle Aurus Merlon at their own stand, and also stated that an experimental batch of these two-wheeled vehicles is already ready and is undergoing a full test cycle. Experts also noted that the domestic motorcycle on electricity is presented in a completed exterior design, so, apparently, they will not change the design of the body or decorative elements in the foreseeable future – this, if I may say so, is the final version.
Moreover, and even more importantly, NAMI employees spoke about the key parameters of the vehicle, which were also finalized. For example, information appeared that the peak power of the electric motor of the new Russian motorcycle Aurus Merlon is 140 kilowatts or 190 horsepower. Due to the relatively low weight and power of the electric motor, the motorcycle is able to accelerate from zero to hundreds in just 3.7 seconds. This, of course, is not a record for the electric car market, but in the electric motorcycle market, the acceleration dynamics are very impressive. At the same time, the maximum speed of the novelty will be 200 km / h, and the cruising range is 200 kilometers on a single charge.
The developers of the project even stated that Aurus Merlon will be able to operate at low temperatures, and the first models on public roads can be seen as early as 2023. True, everyone who wants to get access to the vehicle will not be able – this electric motorcycle was created to accompany motorcades of high-ranking officials, as well as for use in the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergencies. However, NAMI employees said that there will also be a civilian version – it will go on sale a little later.
