In January-May, about 850,000 such devices were sold for 75.5 billion rubles, which amounted to a record 8% in units and 30% in money of the total sales of smartphones. In M.Video-Eldorado stores the share reached about 14% in unit sales and 37% in money.
The sales of the first 5G smartphones began on the Russian market in the fourth quarter of 2019, more than 100 models are already available to consumers. In total, from the moment the first devices appeared until May of this year, a little less than 1.4 million devices were sold in Russia for about 118 billion rubles. The most popular model is the iPhone 12 (128GB). The bestseller in M.Video-Eldorado is the iPhone 12 Pro Max (256GB).
For the first five months of this year, smartphones costing from 50,000 rubles showed a positive trend almost doubled, both in pieces and in monetary terms. Their share among all devices has more than doubled in pieces, to almost 15% of the total number of devices sold, and in money terms has approached 50%.
In total, for five months of 2021, about 10.5 million smartphones were sold in Russia for a total of about 253 billion rubles. Market sales increased by 30%. According to the results of five months, Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, Honor, and Relame are among the five most popular brands among Russians.
