The OPTION group of companies is engaged in the production of computer equipment and components from domestic materials, and is also developing a project to create a laptop production in the Rostov region. To date, one of the enterprises has already produced the first 5 thousand computer mice and keyboards.
The Hi-Tech publication, which is part of the media giant Mail.ru, requested information about the cost, availability and appearance of mice and keyboards. A spokesman for the company confirmed that the production of these computer accessories is indeed launched, but declined to give details. There is an assumption that the product will not appear in retail, mice and keyboards are intended for state companies and organizations.
According to the Investment Promotion Agency of the Rostov Region, this year OPTION plans to produce an experimental batch of laptops at an existing enterprise, as well as a pilot series of monitors. The software and most of the components will be domestic, from foreign – only matrices for the screen and processors. Cases and packaging will be produced first in Essentuki at the Beshtau-electronics plant, and then at the Rostov plant when it is built. By the way, they intend to invest 800 million rubles in the project for the construction of a new plant for the production of laptops at the first stage, and up to 2.5 billion rubles in the future. In addition, OPTION plans to launch the first domestic production of lithium-ion batteries for laptops in Russia.
