The LDPR believes that crypto cities can be opened in Russia to support the regions. This, according to RBC, was stated by the deputy head of the faction Yaroslav Nilov at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“If we look two steps ahead, we would propose the idea, to support the regions, among other things, to open some offshore zones, crypto cities – one could call it that, where a citizen of any state who has a cryptocurrency comes, where you can legalize it, pay taxes, receive preferences and implement their projects”Nilov said. He stressed that the Liberal Democratic Party stands for the legalization of cryptocurrencies in Russia. Mikhail Mishustin replied that it is necessary to integrate the mechanism for the circulation of digital currencies into the country’s financial system. But such issues need to be resolved only jointly with the Central Bank. Recall that before the events in Ukraine, the Bank of Russia saw a lot of risks in cryptocurrency and, in fact, was the main opponent of the legalization of digital currencies in Russia, but under the current conditions, the regulator may change its mind.
