In the Rostov region, they want to build a plant for the production of radio electronic products, which, in particular, will also produce laptops. This is reported by the Interfax edition with reference to the technical director of the Option group of companies Oleg Osipov. The enterprise is planned to be ready by April-May 2023, the amount of investment at the first stage will be 800 thousand rubles, and by 2024 – up to 2.5 billion rubles. The projected capacity of the plant should be up to 150,000 laptops per year.
The initiative is carried out as part of the import substitution program. According to Osipov, this will create 100 jobs, as well as form an IT cluster in the region. Revenue in the first year of operation can be about 3 billion rubles, and in three years – up to 6 billion rubles. The company believes that already in 2024 they will be able to fully establish the entire process of manufacturing domestically assembled laptops.
Now the Option group of companies owns an SMT (surface mount) assembly line for the production of motherboards, SSDs, power supplies, as well as a line of injection molding machines for the production of plastic cases for computers, laptops and monoblocks. Until the completion of the construction of the new plant, laptop case parts and packaging will be produced in the city of Essentuki at the Beshtau Electronics enterprise.
