According to Izvestia, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma committee on the financial market, said that Russia could recognize cryptocurrencies as property this year.

The publication states that this bill also provides for mandatory reporting to the Federal Tax Service (FTS) on the turnover of digital assets in excess of 600 thousand rubles per year.

According to Anatoly Aksakov, amendments to the Tax Code (TC) of the Russian Federation may be adopted before the end of the spring session of the State Duma. At the same time, the declaration threshold of 600,000 rubles is not planned to be changed. Analysts surveyed believe that additional tax revenues from this initiative could reach 20 billion rubles.

Recently, experts have estimated the volume of the domestic cryptocurrency market. Holders of assets in cryptocurrency from Russia can have a total amount of about 16 trillion rubles.
