Experts of the analytical company NPD have summed up the results of the US gaming market for March 2021.
Analyst Mat Piscatella noted that the Sony PlayStation 5 has become the fastest-selling console in the United States in history, both in monetary terms and by piece. The first five months of sales are counted.
If we take into account only sales in March, then the Nintendo Switch console was the best sold in unit and monetary terms. In total, for the first quarter of 2021, Nintendo Switch holds the lead in pieces, and PlayStation 5 in revenue.
Note that all over the world Sony PlayStation 5 is still a scarce commodity. In Russia, Sony raised prices for the set-top box in April and even started canceling pre-orders.
