According to a survey carried out by Sebrae-SP, released this Wednesday (9), the revenues of 59% of micro and small companies (MSEs) only cover the costs of the month or do not even come to that. Most have income equal to or less than their current monthly expenses.
Among the companies consulted, 40% have revenues equal to costs and 19% earn less than they spend. On the other hand, the survey shows that 37% claim to have revenues above costs and 4% do not know.
This situation is directly related to the level of revenue of MSEs, since 46% report that this indicator is below the period prior to the pandemic, 24% can only remain at the same level and 22% declare that they have higher revenue in the same period. comparison.
Regarding the future, the survey shows that the companies’ expectations are positive. For 75% of small businesses, revenues should return to normal within a year. Among MSEs, 54% expect the economy to stabilize in the same period.
The survey also revealed that 42% of businesses have some debt, and 12% of them are late paying these commitments. Obligations not honored on time are mainly loans and financing (for 53% of MSEs with overdue debts) and taxes (47%). The solution to get out of this situation is basically to negotiate the payment in installments, an option indicated by 49% of the companies.
Credit brought breath in the pandemic
One of the most sensitive points in the day to day of business, credit has been responsible for giving breath to companies through the pandemic. According to the survey, 34% of MSEs sought a loan in 2021, but of these, 19% were successful and 15% were not. Already 22% of small businesses said they intend to seek resources of this type this year, 60% do not think about it and 18% do not know if they will resort to this expedient.
