In celebration of Superman Day (“Superman Day”, in literal translation), this Friday (18), the studio Warner Bros. Pictures released a special video with behind -the -scenes images of the new production “Superman” directed by James Gunn (“Guardians of the galaxy”).
The “Superman Day” is a tribute to the character’s birthday, which completes 87 years of life. “When I was a child, I loved Superman’s purity,” says Gunn in the record. “I was trying to find a way to tell this story for years.”
The superhero will be played by David Corenswet (“The Politician”). In the video, he appears alongside other iconic characters from the DC Studios franchise, as well as details of costumes, setting and classic elements, such as images of the “Daily Planet”, a fictional newspaper where Clark Kent works, Superman’s secret identity.
Inaugurating a new phase of DC films, the feature film directed by Gunn tells the story of a younger Clark Kent, newly sick from Smallville. The film is described with “epic action, humor and heart”, as well as “a superman moved by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humanity.”
The cast is still composed of Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Morel”) as Lois Lane and NICHOLAS HOULT (“X-men”) as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi (“For All Mankind”); Anthony Carrigan (“Barry”, “Gotham”); Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the galaxy ”); Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”); Skyler Gisondo (“Licorice pizza”); Sara Sampaio (“At midnight”); María Gabriela de Faría (“The Moodys”); Wendell Pierce (“Selma: a struggle for equality”); Alan Tudyk (“Andor”); PRUITT TAYLOR VINCE (“Bird Box”); and Neva Howell (“Gredy People: greedy people”).
“Superman” debuts on July 10, 2025 in theaters.
