US Senator Roger Wyker, the Republican Chairman of the strong US House of Armed Forces Committee, one of Taiwan’s most vigorous supporters in the US Congress, arrived Friday, Friday, in Taipei. Mr. Wyker was welcomed at Songshan Airport in central Taipei by Deputy Foreign Minister Taiwan Chen Ming-Ti. Although the US government officially does not have diplomatic relations with Taiwan, it is – by law – its main supplier with military equipment, remains its main supporter in international forums, leaving open the possibility of defending it militarily.
