Houston police said a group of attackers used a stolen truck, crashing it into a local store. Surveillance cameras showed how several people jumped out of the truck. The attackers stole several things from the store, and also tried to take possession of the cryptomat, but to no avail.
“Please put these crazy people in jail. They’ve already robbed my store three or four times. We do hard work, and they ruin everything in a minute,” said Fehmida Ali, the owner of the store.
She estimates the total damages and losses are around $10,000.
In March, US law enforcement confiscated 18 ATMs from Coindawg LLC, which were purchased with money fraudulently received from the state.
According to Coin ATM Radar, in the first two months of 2023, the number of cryptomats decreased by 412 devices. At the same time, Australia and Poland have become the countries leading in the installation of cryptomats in the world.
