The big tender for the supply of 650 buses in Athens and Thessaloniki “unlocks”, as the contractors are expected to be announced in the autumn, aiming at the supply of the first buses at the beginning of 2023.
“After many obstacles, this tender seems to be completed, we are in the phase of technical evaluation, the contract will be contracted in the fall and in the first months of 2023, the first buses will be delivered”, underlined the General Secretary of Transport Giannis Xifaras , speaking yesterday at a conference.
It is noted that the tender, which consists of 5 sub-sections (the first section became barren), with an initial budget of 383.49 million euros, attracted the binding interest of 6 companies and in particular, IVECO, IRIZAR, Yutong, BYD, of Van Hool and Industria Italiana Autobus, which (on a case-by-case basis) cooperate in Greece with the Kontelli, Sfakianaki, Sarakaki and P. Petropoulos groups.
Specifically, for the supply of 200 simple urban vehicles of 12 meters, compressed natural gas (CNG) category EURO VI, bids were submitted by the Italian Industria Italiana Autobus and IVECO.
Respectively, for the supply of 100 articulated urban vehicles of 18 meters, compressed natural gas (CNG) category EURO VI, an offer was submitted by IVECO.
In addition, for the supply of 100 simple electric city vehicles 12 meters with a minimum range of 135 km, offers were submitted by Irizar, Van Hool, IVECO and BYD.
Finally, for the supply of 250 simple electric city vehicles 12 meters with a minimum range of 180 km, offers were submitted by Irizar, BYD and YUTONG.
Respectively, in the means of fixed track and in particular, in the trains of line 1, the G.G. Transport reported that in the near future the contract will be signed with the Spanish CAF for the reconstruction of 14 trains.
The contractor of the project, with an initial budget of 70 million euros without VAT, is expected to deliver the 14 trains of the 8th receipt (entered into circulation between 1983 – 1985) fully upgraded.
