Talks on a technical level between Russia and Ukraine may be hosted next week in the Vatican, Finland President Alexander Stubb said today in an interview with Public Broadcasting Yle. According to the Finnish president, representatives of the US and European countries are expected to participate in talks. Alexander Stubb emphasized that such a meeting would be a “positive step” towards a broader involvement of the international community in efforts to end the war in Ukraine. “It is very likely that next week, possibly in the Vatican, a technical meeting will be held with Ukrainians, Russians, Americans and Europeans,” the Finland president said.
